XBTOOL: GIS and X Beach morphodynamic model
volverDescrição:
GIS and the X Beach morphodynamic model
The XB Toolbox includes two geoprocessing tools, written in python scripting language that optimizes the data transfer between the GIS and the X Beach morphodynamic model:
- GIS to XBeach tool: Converts a raster dataset to a grid file representing bathymetric data and configures the parameters file used by XBeach model.
- XBeach to GIS tool: Converts the XBeach model spatial results into georreferenced raster files.
The presented tools were developed to ease the data flow between the ArcGis data to the XBeach model and the opposite around. The digital topobathymetric data, created/visualized in ArcGIS, comprehending the bathymetric information for the XBeach model to run is converted into a grid file, formatted in the specific design to be used as XBeach input.
Simultaneously the parameters file is configured with the most used parameters (Mean Wave Direction, RMS Wave Height and Spectral Period).
The spatial results of the XBeach morphdynamic model can be converted back into the ArcGIS in form of geospatial rasters for each time step of the regular spatial outputs.
